Stories From Our Bari | Chapter 3- TWO STATES | Urvashi Sudhindra
Love is a choice and in this story a Bangalore girl chose to fall in love with a Delhi boy. My two states story is peppered with culture shock, decoding food habits, breaking down the language barriers, and raining good hearted insults on each other’s cities. But amidst all the jibing and arguing, we have stood strong for our love for food and of course each other.
Stories From Our Bari | Chapter 3- TWO STATES | Urvashi Sudhindra
We met in London while pursuing our post-graduation and of course it was the love for food and travel that drew us together. During one of our escapades, we had stopped at a popular Mexican restaurant that’s usually hard to find in the UK. After a hearty lunch, Akash had packed his leftover burrito to enjoy it later, which I accidently threw in the trash! For the next 5 months, I had to give in to every conversation, argument, and fight all because I owed him a burrito. He agreed to accept my olive branch only when I bought him the very same order during our next trip to London. Since then burritos has become such a big part of our relationship that we still make them twice a month at least while feasting on his chhole bhature & my idli sambhar.

So, lame jokes, troubling each other, and constant learning and loving is what defines us. We are divided by states, but united by food and a marriage certificate!
